The Cattle Club Collective's Artist collective wants to show your creative, original film and video work of all kinds. Shorts, experimental, narrative, horror, sci-fi, home video, surrealist expressionist anything goes masterpieces, even if they suck. Sunday nights we are setting up the DVD player and the video projector, and opening up the screen for local filmmakers to show their stuff.

Drop a copy of your work on DVD or video(a copy, can't guarantee they'll get returned) by the Cattle Club Collective. Give it to Amanda in tightspace or whoever is working the coffee bar that night. I will check out your video and let you know if there is space in the next week's screening.

If you can't bring your tape or video to the club, drop me an e-mail at tightspace_at_gmail.com and I will get you an address to send the tape to.

Please repost this all over the place.

xo

Due to "irreconcilable differences", tightspace is no longer a part of Cutthroat Alley.

We are in the process of moving into a new collective space, set to open sometime next week, in Sioux City. This new building will host not only tightspace, but also offer affordable practice space for area bands, studio space for artists, and a collaborative, workshop environment that will serve as a SAFE ZONE for EVERYONE, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and ability.

We believe that, by being a part of this positive collective, we will be more capable of accomplishing many of the tasks we originally envisioned when we created tightspace.

Because we have been banned from the message boards at Cutthroat Alley, we will not be able to participate in the discussion of issues regarding our business or ourselves personally on those public forums. If you would like to speak with us directly concerning these matters, feel free to email us at tightspace_at_gmail_dot_com or comment at myspace or livejournal.

We will be forthright in disclosing the events of the past several days in an effort to dispel any rumors, yet we encourage you to formulate your own opinions on the matter. We've re-posted the original thread that accelerated the termination of our relationship with Cutthroat Alley here. It contains offensive and possibly triggering material.

Thanks very much, and we look forward to seeing you at our new location!

We've decided to do semi-frequent updates about what's going on here at tightspace. I am Megan, and I shall be your host for SpaceStudy#1.

SpaceStudy#1Collapse )

So now that I am out of things to report, I encourage everyone to send suggestions our way. Zines? Books? Accessories? Tee shirt designs? Bands you want to see play here? Let us know what you want, and we will try to make it happen. This entire thing is for the community, and as such, your input is essential.

And, as always, we are keen on distro-ing and consigning your stuff. Just drop a line to our email and let us know what's going on, or stop by the space and we can chat.

Tonight is Teh Night!

Starting at 9 PM, we'll have DJness, reading fun, live music, coffee, local art, etc. We'll be there early, too, as technically we open at 4, so stop in whenever you are around!

710 14th Street
Next to Gus's Family Restaurant on the corner of 14th & Jackson
Sioux City, Iowa

Oh-- and if you show up and want to do a reading or play some music, just let one of us know! This is a totally inclusive environment, and we want to include as many people as possible.

Come mingle, read some zines, talk crafts with us, or just come and hang out and get wired on coffee, cuz the party stops when the last one drops!

XO, Megan @ tightspace
(I'll be the one wearing bat wings. Yes, that's right!)
and Dawn, who just said "Hey, put my name on that, too."
